After Studying with Mark Ashford and Simon Dinnigan she graduated with Honours from the Birmingham Conservatoire in 2003 having been awarded the Conservatoire Guitar Prize and the Rollason Music Award. She continued her postgraduate studies with Mark Ashford and in 2006 was awarded a Postgraduate in Music with Commendation.
Liz has performed in top U.K venues including the Bolivar Hall (London), Kings College (Cambridge), Adrian Boult Hall, Crescent Theatre, Birmingham Cathedral, St Paul’s in the Square (Birmingham) St John’s in the Square (Wolverhampton), Walsall New Art Gallery, Weston Park (Shropshire), Warwick Arts Centre, The Grieg (Alcester) and the Artrix Theatre (Bromsgrove).
She is becoming a popular recitalist at music societies and festivals across Europe. Past recitals have taken Liz to Richmond and Derby guitar societies and the Winchester Guitar Festival; The International de Guitare De Lalinde (France), The Rencontres Internationales de Guitare (France) and The First Guitar Of Valetta, St James Cavalier (Malta); Birmingham Chamber Music Society, Arts Fest Birmingham and the Ludlow Music Festival.

As well as a soloist, Liz is a passionate and versatile chamber musician. She performs across Europe in recitals with guitarist Gordon Dunn and in The Zollisi Flute & Guitar Duo with Royal Academy Graduate Flautist Anna Logan www.liz-larner.co.uk/zollisi.html. She has recently become a member of the classical/jazz/rock fusion group String Theory.
Liz has been interviewed and broadcast Live for BBC Birmingham and had compositions dedicated to her by Dr Andrew Glover and French composer Philippe Sagnear. As a concerto soloist she has performed with orchestras including the Walsall Symphony Orchestra and most recently with the Central England Ensemble as a finalist in the CEE Concerto Competition 2008.
Liz is based in Birmingham. She teaches privately and tutors for Edgbaston High School for Girls, King Edwards High School for Girls (Birmingham) and is resident guitar tutor at The University of Warwick. She is currently a tutor for the renowned Bath International Guitar Festival (IGF) and has recently been appointed as Coordinator for the National Youth Guitar Ensemble of Great Britain (NYGE) www.egta.co.uk/content/nyge
